This house at 733 Wharncliffe Road, Duncan, B.C. was designed and built circa 1928 by local architect Douglas James for Claude Green and his wife Edna Green (nee Castley).

Claude Green was a local businessman who joined Temple Lodge, No.33 in 1927. He served as Wor. Master of Temple Lodge, No.33 in 1941 and as Grand Master of B.C. & Yukon in 1957-58.

Claude Green is also associated with the buildings at 161 Kenneth Street and 145-149 Kenneth Street in downtown Duncan.
