Neil Logan Gray (1902-1991) was a member of Temple Lodge, No.33. He served Temple Lodge, No.33 as Secretary (1948-49), Junior Warden (1950), Senior Warden (1951) and Worshipful Master in 1952.

He was also a member of Tzouhalem Chapter, No.26 and served as Scribe Ezra – 1951-1955; 3rd Principal, 1958; 2nd Principal, 1959 and 1st Principal in 1960.

Here is Neil Logan Gray’s 1991 obituary from the Cowichan Leader newspaper:

“GRAY – In the Cowichan Lodge Intermediate Care Facility on September 19, 1991, a well known and respected member of the community, Mr. Neil Logan Gray, at age 88 years. Born in Renfrew, Scotland on 17 November 1902, Survived by his devoted wife, Chrissie, son David and wife Karen of Burnaby, B.C.; two grandchildren Michelle and Kevin. Mr. Gray served on the home front during World War 2 with the King’s Own Rifles. For many years he was an independent insurance agent in Duncan, a member and past treasurer of the Rotary Club of Duncan, a member of the Cowichan Golf & Country Club, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #53, Pacific Command, Duncan, B.C., a life member and past master of Temple Lodge, No.33, A.F. & A.M., a life member and past secretary of Tzouhalem Chapter, No.26, R.A.M., Duncan, B.C., a member of Colville Lodge of Perfection, Victoria, B.C., and he achieved his 32nd degree Scottish Rite. His presence among his family and friends will be deeply missed.

Service will be held in the Sands Funeral Chapel, 187 Trunk Road, Duncan, B.C. on Wednesday, September 25 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. James Statham officiating. Cremation. Floral tributes are gratefully declined. In memory of Mr. Gray, those so desiring may contribute to the Parkinson Disease Association, Richmond Road. Victoria, B.C. V8R 4P9.”
