The Duncan & Christmas Heritage Mall building at 149 Canada Avenue is named for Kenneth F. Duncan (1881-1952) and Wilfred Christmas (died 1950) who operated a financial services firm in this building between 1936 and 1950 under the name Duncan&Christmas Ltd.

Prior to 1936, Kenneth Duncan had been involved in a partnership with Herbert Dickie, under the name under the name Dickie & Duncan Ltd., which also had its offices in this building.  Both Kenneth Duncan and Herbert Dickie were members of Temple Lodge, No.33, A.F. & A.M. and Kenneth Duncan played a leading role in the construction of the Duncan Masonic Temple (at 163 Canada Avenue, next door to the Duncan & Christmas Heritage Mall) in 1912.
