David John Madill (died 1960, aged 67) was a member of Temple Lodge, No.33, Coronation Lodge, No. 152 and Tzouhalem Chapter, No.26.

He served Tzouhalem Chapter as 3rd Principal, 1935; 2nd Principal, 1936 and 1st Principal in 1937.

Here is David John Madill’s 1960 obituary in the Cowichan Leader newspaper:

“David J. Madill at lake 42 years

Funeral services will be held today at 1:30 p.m. for the late David John Madill, a well known resident of Lake Cowichan for the last 42 years.

Mr. Madill died Monday at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital, Duncan at the age of 67. He was born at Gooderham, Ontario.

Rev. T.W. Bulman, Lake Cowichan United Church, will conduct the service in Hirst Funeral Chapel, Duncan, with interment taking place in Hatley Memorial Gardens, Colwood.

 Mr. Madill was a member of Coronation Lodge, A.F. & A.M., Lake Cowichan and a past principal of the Royal Arch. He was also a member of the BPOE lodge at Lake Cowichan.

Mr. Madill is survived by his wife, Catherine, at home; a son, David, and a grandson, David, at Victoria; three brothers, James and Henry, Cando, Sask.; Joseph, Haliburton, Ont.; two sisters, Mrs. Roy Snider, Cando; and Mrs. William Grylls, Whitby, Ont.”
